Keep an eye on your email inbox

We'll send you, by email, your College email address and password. Please activate your account right away; you’ll need it to get information from us and to access The Camel Experience, your online pre-orientation, which will be available around the first of May.

After your new Connecticut College account is activated, most information we send to you will be to your Connecticut College email address, so please log in at least once a week. (You can read and send email by going to CamelWeb and clicking the email icon at the top of the page.) If you don't get your College email address, contact the IT Service Desk at 1-860-439-4357.

Submitting Final Admission Requirements

Incoming students may be required to follow up with necessary final items to the Office of Admission before beginning their studies at Conn.

Final High School Transcript: Incoming first-year students must provide an official, final high school transcript documenting graduation from high school, including all four years of secondary education and graduation date. Postgraduate (PG) candidates need only send a transcript of their PG year grades.

Official final transcripts should be sent directly from a representative of your school to the Office of Admission at admission@conncoll.edu by July 15. Please review the checklist on your Application Status Page to determine if this item is missing in your file.

Official SAT or ACT Scores: Incoming first-year students who elected to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of their application review may be required to follow up with official score reports if unofficial test scores were submitted for their application review. Official score reports should be sent directly from the testing agency (SAT or ACT) to the Office of Admission. If the purchase of a score report is a significant financial burden for you, please request that a representative of your secondary school send your test scores to admission@conncoll.edu.

Arrival Day, Orientation and Pre-Orientation Programs

You'll move in and get settled on Arrival Day, Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, unless you're participating in a pre-orientation program—see below. Welcome Weekend begins on the afternoon of Aug. 21 and runs through the end of the day on Monday, Aug. 26. The first day of classes for the fall semester is Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024.

Once you are on campus, your student advisers and other student leaders will help you get settled and acquainted with the campus, your residence hall, dining halls, the library, the athletic center, clubs and organizations, traditions and even the lingo of Connecticut College. These are exciting days you'll remember throughout your time at Conn.

Pre-Orientation Programs: Odyssey is a pre-orientation program for first-year international students and their families, and Genesis is for underrepresented students, including students of color and students who are the first in their families to attend a four-year college (first-gen). Both programs are optional but highly recommended!

If you participate in either Odyssey or Genesis, you will arrive earlier than other first-year students and your program leader will provide you with the details. You can sign-up to participate in these programs in the Checklist of the Camel Experience pre-Orientation platform (check your email for login information after May 1).

When do I register for classes?

During Orientation, you'll meet with your Advising Team, which consists of your pre-major faculty adviser, a staff adviser and student advisers. Your team will introduce you to the Connections program, help you select courses, and show you how to register for classes on your own.

You will also sign up for a Registration & Advising Workshop in June or July (the Camel Experience has the sign-up link) during which you will learn about the course schedule and our advising philosophy and have a chance to ask questions!

What about placement tests, info sessions and auditions for various courses?

Placement tests and auditions are schedule during Welcome Weekend over an extended period of time so that you make take more than one. They are important if you intend to continue in any of these areas at any time over the next four years. All levels of ability are encouraged to participate. If you miss a session, please contact the chair of that department.

When do classes begin?

The first day of classes is Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024. Visit the academic calendar for this year’s full schedule of important dates.
